How to be Bold and Beautiful in 2022

To welcome the year of the Tiger on the 1st of February, this Lunar New Year (Chinese New Year), a festive rich in tradition and the custom of family values, one way of creating a deeper connection with the culture is to lean on the local communities by donning on the auspicious colours especially red and gold. According to customs, the colours red and gold are symbolic of good health and fortune. Synonymous with the festive ceremonies and celebrations, red lanterns are stylishly hung at the ceilings to illuminate main hallways.

This is a year to be courageous, be really bold, and look your best!

Beyond representing fortune and good luck, the bright red colour and fiery hue have long been the colour of revolution. After months and months of pandemic lockdown and isolation, many believe the year of the Tiger will bring many changes. It is time to be BOLD and BEAUTIFUL!

Beyond representing prosperity and good fortune, the scarlet red of your festive outfit also have the advantage of making you look vibrant, exciting, and attractive. The bright colour is a confidence booster and incredibly flattering.

How to Get What You Really Want and Live Your Best Year?

If you are in the market for a little personal make-over or tune-up, whether it is your career, business, appearance, relationships, social, or communication skills, we've got tools for whatever's feeling broken.

A fresh new you! This is the year to be courageous, really BOLD, and LOOKING your best. Instead of planning to be perfect, plan to do a little better. Win 51 percent of the battles, and you'll win the war. Get started now by following some of the tips.

  • How to fix a Communication Breakdown?
Help! Your Senior management wants an update on a project you never heard of. Your colleague has gone on leave and sent you an email earlier at work without alerting you.

People very often worry about things happening behind their back at work. But instead of giving in to paranoia, start a conversation about roles. Ask your management, "What are my responsibilities? What decisions should I be involved in? How do I ensure that I get the information I need to do what I'm expected to? These are questions you can ask in a neutral and safe way. Also ask, "Is there any advice you can give that would prevent this from happening again?" If anyone is out to sabotage you, this will make clear that you're not willing to go along with the dynamic.

  • How to break free from being stuck in a project at hand?
There are lots of methods to spark creativity, but I like the one used by my designer friend's company. They set aside a day for their designers' team to work on any problem they want, so long as it's not part of their regular job. They are called 'XYZ Creative Days' because the participants have to 'deliver' something overnight, and they've resulted in a list of innovative solutions and ideas that might otherwise never have emerged. Why shouldn't this idea be picked up by someone who's looking to switch careers, start a new business, or even just redecorate the office space or living room at home? People underestimate how much a wildly varied group can accomplish in a short time. So enlist your team with these ground rules. They can work on anything they want, but at the end of 24 hours, everyone must deliver something - whether it's a list of fields where your skills might be of use or a sketch of how the office space or how the room could look. Don't worry about making it perfect. Worry about making it. And remember to have fun. If you're not laughing during the 'XYZ Creative Day', you're doing it wrong.

  • How to be a Likeable Charismatic Person at any Social Occasion?
Admit it. You have at least once in your life, fantasized about being that intriguing, charismatic person who walks into a room and makes everyone's head turn. I've personally groomed and also watched as Image Consultants, Managers and Publicists create stars out of ordinary men and women. There is a common misconception that people who make it to the top get to where they are through luck or nepotism. Not true! For the most part, successful individuals come from being committed to a GOAL. In other words, stars are made, not born.

So, how do they do it?

When you meet and greet, SMILE, maintain EYE CONTACT,  and natural expression while you continue talking; choose your WORDS  wisely. Be a physical PRESENCE: Dress with pride, and stand up straight. If you don't believe in yourself, who will?

Be nice to waiters.

The way you treat the little people speaks volumes about your chance of success in life.

  • Dress Well to look good and for Respect
What's the way to achieve presence and LOOK your best on every occasion? How should you as a busy working man and woman put yourself together this season? What's the way to wear your new clothes, look polished and with your own style? To achieve presence, it's about personalising your look, interpreting the trends in your own unique way, and mixing and matching to make them suit you and the occasion.

Personal Style is the new fashion mantra for you in 2022 and years ahead. To get some idea inspirations, you can look to the men and women you admire fashion-wise on TV and in real life. Personally, I love to get inspiration from my style icon, the former Hollywood star, Audrey Hepburn, and Sarah Jessica Parker, and for modern-day style, inspiration can be sourced from Lily Collins who plays Emily in Paris. As for the men, I would recommend you get the inspiration from 'James Bond' as George Clooney, just to name a few classic examples. Fit plays the most important role in both men's and women's fashion choices, oftentimes, style is reflected in how you accessories. From Sarah Jessica's way with brooches to the must-have bag phenomenon, accessories are a powerful thing. When in doubt, stick to classics. "A pair of jeans takes it down. And diamonds take it to the next level."

How Far Is Too Far? An ethics questionnaire to help you decide.

In the business world, it is often difficult to know when our actions are ethical and when they are not. How Far is too far when faced with the ethics questionnaire? The more you compete with others for business, the more difficult it will be to decide what's ethical and what's not. Competition drives the economic system, legal system, and political system. Competition drives our society, and that means we are all pitching, all the time. Image Courtesy: Unsplash by Kelly Sikkema How far should a sales pitch actually go? As an Image cum Strategist Coach, I've found myself faced with scores of ethical dilemmas.  Here are some basic ethical principles that can help guide our decisions or help us determine whether a particular action is ethical or not. Full disclosure is the best policy. Anything that can be done openly and publicly without embarrassment is inherently ethical. But the converse is not true- things that must remain secret aren't necessarily unethical. Competi

Is your company acquiring the necessary skills for 'Customer Intimacy'?

Leaders can and must lead, but employees from all ranks of a company - from the back office and the front - must participate in the shift to CUSTOMER INTIMACY. A team spirit, and a sense of shared GOALS, must light up a company's efforts at intimacy. Teams of people working together create more excitement, more energy, more ideas, and more enthusiasm than individuals ever can. Try to imagine your own company. Think about your current position in the marketplace and your prospects for the future. What are your aspirations, your hopes, and your dreams?  Customer Intimacy offers tailored solutions to its customers. Together, the salesperson and customer sit together to commit to a shared goal.  Photo courtesy: Unsplash Lessons from the BEST Selling Companies and Brands, who specifically focus on one of the key "Value Disciplines", which is "Customer Intimacy". How to get there? The future is largely uncertain and unexplored; and the capacity to act, rather than to

Would you like a cup of coffee? You say....

Why do people like looking in the mirror? Why do people like looking in a mirror? We mostly mirror unconsciously. One of the fastest ways to create a good first impression and improve rapport is to use the mirror image. People will think you're reading their minds.  Why use the mirror image? Why do people like looking in the mirror? Ever seen a yawn become contagious? If you smile at someone, don't they smile back? Doesn't it make you feel happier?  Sometimes, we don't have to say anything or too much, or crack our heads to use any chat lines. In the initial stage, it's a sincere SMILE that makes a difference. Once you've ' broken the ice ', words become the focus. Remember a good smile is an asset in building relationships as it helps to connect. Leaders and successful business people can make very effective use of this intangible skill in improving leadership and interpersonal relationship building.  Image Credit: By Alexandr Ivanov of Pixabay You smil
