How are you perceived as an entrepreneurial CEO?

Unless Commitment is made, there are only Promises and Hopes; but no Plans

The global pandemic has eliminated jobs and affected many businesses, in my view and I believe of others too, the solution is entrepreneurship- not in the old sense of dealmaking, but in the creation of new products or services. It is a great time especially for CEOs of small to medium-sized companies to foster the principles of real entrepreneurship within their organisations.

Encouraging creativity among employees with minimum bureaucracy is an effective way of managing an entrepreneurial workforce. As the CEO of an entrepreneurial enterprise, you would be encouraged to have your staff formulate their own ways to achieve their goals based on their individual strengths and weaknesses. To motivate them, an entrepreneurial CEO set the ultimate example by being the MOST MOTIVATED individual at work every day.  The ability to recognise the entrepreneurial talent among your staff force enables you to develop key positions and new businesses. Several new innovative businesses have been established and managed by individuals whom we have personally groomed to be entrepreneurs in their respective professions and careers.

Absolute focus on customers and products is crucial to an entrepreneur's success. Through years of working with clients, for example, we believe that TIME is the essence of success. In the new accelerated tech market environment, it is crucial to be agile, and identifying what fundamental changes are needed is critical for success.

A company is a reflection of its CEO. The culture of a company is shaped by the CEO. This is especially real in a family-oriented culture that encourages conformity to family norms. So the goal in this aspect is not only to recover from the pandemic but more importantly, to redefine and reinvent.

If you perceived yourself as an entrepreneurial CEO, if we are to redefine our companies, we have to reinvent ourselves (a.k.a rebrand ourselves).

There are five (5) keys to doing this:

First, read constantly. We have to have a steady stream of new ideas to work with. Our old ideas will only produce old results.

If you always do what you've always done, you'll always get what you've always got!

-Alan Scott

Second, look for models, for companies who are breaking the rules and reinventing their industries. Study them, not to purposefully copy them but to understand the fundamentals. Stand on the shoulders of the leaders who are building ultra-innovative companies now.

If the door to your dreams is locked. kick it open!

-Kevin  Jimeno

Third, surround yourself with people who will act as a mirror to help you see your old ways of looking at things. The most valuable role a team can play is to help us see the limitations of our thoughts.

Failure is not about insecurity. It's about lack of execution.

-Jeffrey Gitomer

Fourth, I have found that the entrepreneurs and companies that respond best to business challenges are the ones that employ mission statements. Mission statements explain what your business is trying to achieve. It can help inspire teams, customers, and stakeholders and get them excited to be part of what your company is doing.

The best way to predict the future is to create it.

-Peter Drucker

Fifth, change "YOUR CUSTOMER EQUATION". Your product and service quality are only as good in value as the customer's PERCEIVED VALUE in his or her mind. The only differentiating characteristic you can bring to clients/customers is what your clients/customers believe about the company, product, or service and their relationship with your brand. Depending on how you look at it, the only place that the real product or company or brand value exists is within the minds of the clients or prospects. This is truly the "PERCEIVED VALUE" of your product or services. Many companies and brands have managed their "perceived value" in a manner that has not only brought VISIBILITY, POSITIVE PERCEPTION, and high customer retention but also consistent and loyal clientele which amounts to a healthy bottom line. Always ask, listen, observe market trends and obtain consistent feedback.

Eating out at a restaurant for a business lunch or dinner, celebration, date, or other event puts your etiquette and social skills on full display- so how would you behave without embarrassing yourself or committing any faux pas? An important part of restaurant etiquette is proper table manners, which also applies when dining in other people's homes.
